Our Company

Built in the Field. Proven in Yield.

We combine advanced biological science with practical agronomy to help growers increase yields, improve margins and protect the land they depend on.

Planet Earth Agronomy improves the performance of every acre by building better soil, stronger plants, and more efficient agronomic systems. We believe most challenges begin in the soil—when biology is limited, nutrients become unavailable, inputs are lost, and yield potential is reduced—so we focus on improving soil health first to unlock productivity already in the field.

Our approach combines biological insight, practical agronomy, and proven chemistry to enhance existing programs and make every pass more effective. Every solution must deliver measurable ROI, validated through replicated, multi-location field trials and real-world results.

We work alongside independent agronomists and retailers to solve real problems—from residue breakdown to plant stress—while keeping profitability at the center of every decision, because healthy soil builds healthy plants, and it all must drive results for the farmer today while strengthening the land for the future.

Our Vetting Protocol

We ensure this by validating our solutions through rigorous internal testing as well as third-party and university trials, guaranteeing they consistently improve yield and maximize your return on investment.

Our Philosophy

Our core focus is solving problems for farmers by emphasizing profitability, productivity, and agronomic performance. Every product or technology we bring to market must demonstrate clear economic value on the farm.

We also prioritize the health of the people farming the land—"good for the earth and the people who farm it" —by prioritizing operational safety. This includes replacing hazardous synthetics, like harmful planter dusts, with safer, soy-based alternatives that improve air quality for the applicator.

We don't just measure bushels; we measure nutritional value. We vet our products for their ability to increase protein synthesis and overall grain quality, ensuring you are growing highly nutritious food and feed.

To validate performance, we use randomized, replicated test blocks. Once products pass the initial vetting, we replicate trials as many as 10 times per location in up to 10 locations to gain the most robust data on the planet.

We optimize the crop's performance by identifying in-season limiting factors through tissue sampling, sap testing, and drone or satellite imagery.

By utilizing RNA and DNA soil testing, along with CO2 microbial and resin ball testing, we diagnose specific limiting factors to establish a baseline. Fixing soil health is the first step to improving on-farm ROI and productivity.

We don't guess; we use best-in-class technology to evaluate performance.

Our Story

Where it all started

1980s Humble Beginnings

In the 1980s, our co-founder Larry bought an old sprayer for about $1,500. He spent time sanding the rust, repainting it, and putting it back to work.

At the time, the technology was cutting edge. The sprayer allowed alfalfa seed to be applied alongside liquid fertilizer, lightly scoring the seed to improve germination. For dairy farms, it meant planting alfalfa up to ten times faster than traditional methods.

Our Support for Agronomists Grows Every Year

Today, Planet Earth Agronomy supports over 1,200 agronomists across 17 crops, helping improve farm profitability, yields, and soil health.

We operate a USDA APHIS-licensed warehouse, allowing us to import materials from around the world to help solve agronomic challenges.

Our Research & Testing Locations

Our team conducts research at five testing locations, using randomized test blocks to generate high-quality, repeatable data across different soils, climates, and application systems.

Even as we’ve grown, we remain a small, family-owned business focused and if we work really hard we may someday become the second smallest plant nutrition company.

I like their practicality really at the end of the day, they value the implementation and they understand that it's an ROI game...[the Planet Earth Team] are a tremendous wealth of information... their information is the key, you know, and they have the experience and everything needed to guide you in a direction that's going to be synergy.

- Distributor, Upper Mid-West

I would highly recommend Planet Earth to anybody that has questions about the biological world, the biostimulants, something that they want to add to their portfolio and be able to offer customers and be comfortable with proven products and a lot of knowledge.

- Retailer, High Plains

We take their advice. Yes. There's a lot of good and there's a lot of bad microbiology in the industry and with the research they have here at Planet Earth Agronomy, we've never been steered in the wrong direction.

Nelson M.

- Retailer, South Dakota

We met Larry and the guys at Planet Earth Agronomy and everything's been great. They've been awesome to us and we just hit things off right away.

[They are] more about the passion than thier bottom line.

Chris H.

- Grower, South Dakota

A lot of companies, they can get a product and take it to the market and have a big year with it and they disappear off the map. They got their money, they're gone onto the next thing... and that's just not the approach with [Planet Earth Agronomy]. And so their beliefs and who they are to the core is what makes me want to work with them.
